Have you wanted to get started with a new hobby? Had an eye on one of my kits, but didn't want to have to go out and source all the craft supplies that don't come with it?

This set comes with all the supplies you will need, plus all the optional supplies, to make almost all of my miniature kits! It has glue, a sanding stick, a paint brush, a pot of acrylic paint, and a test palette made from the same wood as the kits, so you can test out your paints or custom color mixes.

The glue is Aleene's Tacky Glue. Aleene's Tacky Glue is a water-based PVA glue, and my preferred glue for miniature building. It is similar to Modpodge, but thicker, so it can be applied more precisely and dries more quickly.

The paint is acrylic craft paint--the same used in all my sample images! It is a small pot intended to be just enough for your kit, so you don't have to buy a whole bottle to just use a tiny drop.

The sets do not include any cutting implements.

Some kits, like the sandwich board kit, need more supplies than what is included in the Essentials Set, like super glue. In those cases, the extra supplies are included in the Supplies Set add-on within the individual kit listing.

Item details:
- 2-oz (59 mL) bottle of Aleene's Tacky Glue
- 1/6-oz (5 mL) pot of Folk Art Matte acrylic craft paint
- 1 basing/wash paint brush
- 1 double-sided sanding stick
- 1 basswood test palette (shape may vary)

FAQ

What tools do I need to finish the kits?

All of the kits need glue to complete--any kind that adheres to wood will work. (I use Aleene's Tacky Glue.) You may also need a craft knife, sandpaper or an emery board, and clamps or clips.

Is paint provided to make the kit look like the sample?

No, the kits do not include paint or stain. Any type of paint, stain, or marker that adheres to wood will work. For the samples, I used craft acrylic paints, artist acrylic paints, water-based washes, oil-based wood stain, and micron markers.

Will I be able to customize this?

Yes! All of the kits and components are made of basswood ply (except the boot tray, which is chipboard). While it requires some elbow grease, the wood can be be cut with multiple passes of a craft knife.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you're not sure about the ease or possibility of a customization you're considering, and I can work through it with you or potentially do a custom order.
